We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Construction Management Intern who is eager to learn on the job. The ideal candidate will have some experience in a construction office (ordering materials, project planning, etc.) and be a rising junior or senior with several construction management courses completed.
Reporting to the company’s owners, this role is responsible for assisting the project managers and owners with the following:
-PROJECT PLANNING AND COORDINATION: Assist in planning and coordinating all aspects of the pre-construction and construction process, including obtaining permits, estimating, bidding, selecting subcontractors, working with clients, architects, and vendors. Assist in soliciting and obtaining bids and identifying qualified subcontractors. Assist with negotiating price and scope. Assist in performing post-bid subcontractor buyout. Assist in drafting subcontractor agreements and purchase orders.
-PROJECT OVERSIGHT: Assist in running assigned projects to ensure safety, quality, schedule, and budget goals are met or exceeded. Assist in assessing and analyzing financial consequences and impact to project budgets due to change orders and changes to scope. Assist in preparing cash flow projections, and ensuring accurate job forecasting. Assist in monitoring construction progress.
-CLIENT SATISFACTION AND RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPMENT: Contribute to creating raving fans for repeat business. Develop strong relationships with the Spiegelglass team, including staff, clients, sub-contractors, and more. Build trust throughout these interactions while exceeding client and team satisfaction.

-Willingness to learn about small to medium-sized projects ranging from $500K-$2MM.
-Student seeking a construction management-related Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred.
-Rising junior or senior or graduate student with several construction management-related courses completed preferred.
-At least one previous construction management internship or experience in a construction office is preferred.
-Exceptional work ethic with a desire to complete tasks on schedule with excellence.
-Bright, confident learner with high attention to detail.
-Proficient with computers, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
